उत्तर प्रदेश के इलाहाबाद जिले में अमरूद की सघन बागवानी की स्थिति और प्रदर्शन का निरीक्षण करने के लिए डा. वी.के. सिंह, प्रधान वैज्ञानिक एवं पीएफडीसी स्टाफ ने दिनांक 17.07.2018 को सर्वेक्षण किया। टीम द्वारा कोड़ापुर गाँव के किसान श्री बी.डी. सिंह, प्रगतिशील किसान के प्रक्षेत्र का भ्रमण किया जहाँ किसान द्वारा अमरूद की सरदार प्रजाति को संस्थान की संस्तुति के आधार पर सघन बागवानी के अन्तर्गत 6 मीटर X 3 मीटर की दूरी पर लगाया गया और प्रूनिंग के माध्यम से बगीचे का उचित प्रबन्धन किया जा रहा है। मिथाइल यूजीनॉल के उपयोग से बरसात के मौसम में अमरूद के पौधे बिना फल मक्खी के फलो से लदे हैं। इस तकनीक को अपनाकर अमरूद के उत्पादन की बढ़ोत्तरी के साथ-साथ 2.5 लाख रूपये प्रति हेक्टेयर का शुद्ध लाभ अर्जित किया जा रहा है। किसान प्रति वर्ष 40 टन वर्मीकम्पोस्ट का उत्पादन भी करता है और रूपये 300-350 प्रति किलो की दर से केचुआ बेच रहा है। उसी दिन सिलोखरा गाँव में अमरूद के बगीचे का भ्रमण किया जिसमें सभी पौधे फल से लदे पाये गये परन्तु कुछ पौधों में उकठा की स्थिति देखी गयी। बेरूई ग्राम में आम की आम्रपाली एवं मल्लिका प्रजाति के लगाये गये बगीचे को देखा गया जिसमें पाया कि फलत अच्छी थी परन्तु फलों का आकार छोटा पाया गया (सी ग्रेड )। बगीचे में आवश्यक पोषक तत्वों को डालने की सलाह दी गयी। दूसरे दिन (18.07.2018) की सुबह कौशाम्बी जिले के शाहपुर ग्राम का भ्रमण किया और 4000 वर्गमीटर के पॉलीहाउस में लगे जरबेरा की फसल का भ्रमण किया गया। जिसमें पाया गया कि कुछ पौधे थ्रिप्स और माइट्स से ग्रसित थे। किसान को उचित कीटनाशकों और एक्रेसाइड्स का छिड़काव करने की सलाह दी गयी। सिंचाई एवं पोषक तत्वों को देने के लिए ड्रिप का प्रयोग किया गया है। इस तकनीक से उच्च गुणवत्तायुक्त जरबेरा के फूलों का उत्पादन करके किसान काफी लाभान्वित हो रहा है। प्रक्षेत्र भ्रमण के बाद मंझनपुर, कौशाम्बी में आयोजित किसान मेला/गोष्ठी में भाग लिया। किसान मेला का उद्घाटन इस क्षेत्र के विधायक द्वारा जिला अधिकारी की उपस्थिति में किया गया। मेले में जिला उद्यान अधिकारी के अलावा अन्य अधिकारियों सहित लगभग 500 से अधिक किसानों ने भाग लिया।

A survey was conducted to assess the status and performance of high density plantation guava at Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh on 17.07.2018 by Dr. V.K. Singh, PS, ICAR-CISH, Lucknow along with his PFDC team. The team visited at Kodapur where Shri B. D. Singh, a progressive farmer owned and maintained 2 ha guava orchard of cv. Sardar (L-49) under HDP (6 m x 3 m) through proper pruning operations as per our recommendations and the trees were in full bearing stage of rainy season crop. The orchards were found to be free from fruit flies as the farmer adopted our recommended technology of methyl eugenol trap. Overall scenario of the farmer earned an annual net income of Rs 2.5 lakh per ha from HDP guava orchard and benefited by on-farm vermi compost production of 40 ton/year and its sale besides selling worms @ Rs. 300-350 per kg. The team also visited an orchard located at Silokhara at full bearing stage where some guava plants were wilted. Heavy fruiting and under sized fruits (mostly C grade) was observed in mango cvs. Amrapali and Mallika orchards at Berui and the farmer was advocated to following nutrient management practices. In the next day (18.07.2018), the team visited Shahpur of Kaushambi district and witnessed polyhouse cultivation of gerbera by the progressive farmers in an area of 4000 sq. m. (1000 sq m each) in four polyhouses. Thrips and mite infestation was observed to be severe and the farmer was advised to spray suitable insecticides and acaracides. In the afternoon, the team participated at a district level Kisan Mela/gosthi Manjhanpur, Kaushambi. The Kisan mela was inaugurated by Honrable MLA of Kaushambi in the presence District Magistrate. DHO and officials of horticulture department, KVK and SHIATS, Naini and More than 500 farmers participated in the gosthi and actively participated in the stake holder’s interaction.
